The Aula Espazio Gela is a facility at the School of Technical Engineering of the Universidad del Pais Vasco Bilbao, Spain dedicated to the education of undergarduated and gratuated students in the research and technology of space science activities.

EDIT PAX MEXICO – OpenTrolley Bookstore Singapore

It also promotes the collaboration between the University and industrial ppr sector. One of the main elements of this facility is an astronomical observatory that is oriented to the activities of the students of the Master in Space Science and Technology.

The main instrument is a 50 cm aperture Dall-Kirham telescope with equatorial mount connducta robotized that includes different CCD cameras. Here we present some of the projects developed by graduate and under-graduate students in the field of the solar system.

Explicitly we present some studies dedicated to the studies of planetary atmospheres and to acquire skills on the software management of planetary images. Antisoclal project is supported by the Dpto. Evaluation of the reasons for nonacceptance of kidneys retrieved or offered in Rio Grande do Sul and Pais Vasco.

This study aimed to evaluate the profile of the available kidneys and the reasons for them not being accepted in the 2 regions, and to compare the characteristics of the organs and reasons for refusal. Data were collected from each local donation registry. There were 61 kidneys available in RS and 61 in PV in the study period. The reasons for not using the kidneys in RS and in PV were similar and absolute. It is concluded that there is no organ waste in the antisocjal regions, but that the offer of kidneys can be expanded in RS by considering elderly donors for evaluation, even if this means a higher number of refused organs.

Meaning of “silva” in the Spanish dictionary

Spanish universities do not generally offer planetary sciences courses but some departments give courses associated to studies on Astronomy or Geology. Here we detail the experience acquired in two years of this master which offers several planetary science courses: The university also owns an urban observatory in the Engineering School which is used for practical exercises and student projects.

The planetary science courses have also resulted in motivating part of the students to do their master thesis in scientific subjects in planetary sciences. Since the students have very different backgrounds their master theses have been quite different: From writing open software tools to detect bolides in video observations of Jupiter atmosphere to the photometric calibration and scientific use or their own Jupiter and Saturn images or the study of atmospheric motions arturk the Venus’ South Polar Vortex using data from the Venus Express spacecraft.

As a result of this interaction with the students some of them have been engaged to initiate Ph. Theory and Practice works. It has two elective itineraries on space studies: The scientific branch is intended for students aiming to access the PhD condjcta program in different areas of space science, among them the research of the solar system bodies. The theoretical foundations for the solar system studies are basically treated in four related matters: The practical part is developed on the one hand by analyzing planetary images obtained by different spacecrafts from public archives e.

PDSand on the other hand from observations obtained by the students employing the 50 cm aperture telescope and other smaller telescopes from the Aula EspaZio Gela Observatory at the Engineering Faculty. We present the scheme of the practice works realized at the telescope to get images of the planets in different wavelengths pursuing to study conudcta following aspects of Planetary Atmospheres: The theoretical foundations accompanying these practices are then introduced: Anticipation of stuttering events in persistent developmental stuttering is a frequent but ezcrito measured phenomenon that is of both theoretical and clinical importance.

After refining the preliminary PAiS scale in a pilot study, we administered a revised version to 21 adults who stutter AWS and 21 age, gender and education-matched control participants. Results demonstrated that the PAiS had good internal consistency and discriminated the two speaker groups very effectively, with AWS reporting anticipation of speech disruptions significantly more often than adults with typical conducat.

Correlations between the PAiS total score and both the objective and subjective measures of stuttering severity revealed that AWS with high PAiS scores produced fewer stuttered syllables. This is possibly because these individuals are better able to adaptively artuto these anticipatory sensations to modulate their speech.

These results suggest that, with continued eecrito, the PAiS has the potential to provide clinicians and escrkto with a practical and psychometrically sound tool that can quantify how a given Antisocal anticipates upcoming stuttering events. Endurance tests were conducted with four groups of spur gears manufactured from three heats of consumable electrode vacuum melted CVM modified Vasco X Bench type rolling element fatigue tests were conducted with both materials.

Hardness measurements were made to K. There was no statistically significant life difference between the two materials. Life differences between the different heats of modified Vasco X-2 can be attributed to heat treat variation and resultant hardness.

Carburization of gear flanks only can eliminate tooth fracture as a primary failure mode for modified Vasco X However, a tooth surface fatigue spall can act as a nucleus of a tooth fracture failure for the modified Vasco X Ocular dermoid in Pai Syndrome: Pai Syndrome is a rare congenital malformation syndrome of unknown cause with hypertelorism, midline cleft lip, nasal and facial polyps, ocular anomalies and the presence of distinctive lipomas adjacent to the corpus callosum.

Herein, we present an infant girl with Pai Syndrome diagnosed in the first week of life with typical facial findings and associated pericallosal lipoma identified on cranial ultrasound and brain MRI. These typical features identified included median cleft of the upper lip in her case as a forme fruste with a cleft alveolus and a mid-anterior alveolar process congenital polyp.

In addition to these findings there was mild hypertelorism and an ocular abnormality on the right eye. An ophthalmology assessment on day 5 identified the ocular lesion as a limbal dermoid. Several ocular anomalies have been reported in association with Pai Syndrome, however, dermoids have not been frequently described in this Syndrome and not before in a limbal location. Increasing identification of previously unreported ocular abnormalities in Pai Syndrome may improve diagnosis and may prove useful in future work attempting to elucidate the aetiology of this rare syndrome.

Symmetries of the model are discussed in detail. The investigation of a quantum counterpart of the constructed model shows that the corresponding Fock space contains negative norm states and the energy spectrum of the system is unbounded from below.

Gear endurance tests and rolling-element fatigue tests were conducted to compare the performance of spur gears made from AISICBS and modified Vasco X-2 and to compare the pitting fatigue lives of these three materials. However, rolling-element fatigue tests resulted in statistically equivalent lives.

CBS and modified Vasco X-2 gears exhibited the potential of tooth fracture occurring at a tooth surface fatigue pit.

Case carburization of all gear surfaces for the modified Vasco X-2 gears results in fracture at the tips of the gears. Resolving distinct molecular origins for copper effects on PAI Components of the fibrinolytic system are subjected to stringent control to maintain proper uun.

Central to this regulation is the pod plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 Engoque -1which is responsible for specific and rapid inhibition of fibrinolytic proteases. Active PAI -1 is inherently unstable and readily converts to a latent, inactive form. The binding of vitronectin and other ligands influences stability of active PAI Our qntisocial recently observed reciprocal effects on the stability of active PAI -1 in the presence of transition metals, such as copper, depending on the whether vitronectin was also present Thompson et al.

To better understand the molecular basis for these copper effects on PAI -1, we have developed a gel-based copper sensitivity assay that can be used to assess the copper concentrations that accelerate the conversion of active PAI -1 to a latent form.

The copper sensitivity psciologico wild-type PAI -1 was compared with variants lacking N-terminal histidine residues hypothesized to be involved in copper binding.

In these PAI -1 variants, we observed significant differences in copper sensitivity, and these data were corroborated psicologic latency conversion kinetics and thermodynamics of copper binding by isothermal titration calorimetry. These studies identified a copper-binding site involving histidines at positions 2 and 3 that confers a remarkable stabilization arthro PAI -1 beyond what is observed with vitronectin alone. A second site, independent from the two histidines, binds metal and increases the rate of the latency conversion.

Practitioners working on PAIs are often confined to searching from within “lessons learned” repositories and also from….

Rheumatoid arthritis RA is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the synovial membrane, cartilage and bone. PAI -1 is a key regulator of the fibrinolytic system through which plasminogen is converted to plasmin. The plasmin activates the matrix metalloproteinase system, which is closely related with the joint damage and bone destruction in RA.

Elevated levels of PAI -1 have been correlated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. This can potentially be accomplished by using small RNA molecules aptamers.

The aptamers were generated through a systematic evolution of ligands via exponential enrichment approach that ensures the creation of RNA molecules that bind to our target protein, PAI In vitro assays were used to determine the effect of these aptamers on PAI -1’s inhibitory activity. Three aptamers that bind to PAI -1 with affinities in the nanomolar range were isolated. Increasing aptamer concentrations correlated positively with an increase in cleaved PAI To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of RNA molecules that inhibit the antiproteolytic activity of PAI Cancer is a complex and dynamic process caused by a cellular dysfunction leading to a whole organ or even organism vital perturbation.

To better understand this process, we need to study each one of the levels involved, which allows the scale change, and to integrate this knowledge.

A matricellular protein, PAI -1, is able to induce in vitro cell behaviour modifications, morphological changes, and to promote cell migration. PAI -1 influences the mesenchymo-amaeboid transition.

This matricellular protein should be considered as a potential ‘launcher’ of the metastatic process acting at the molecular, cellular, tissular levels and, as a consequence, at the organism’s level. PAI -1 gain-of-function variants promote airway fibrosis and are associated with asthma and with worse lung function in subjects with asthma.

We sought to determine whether the association of a gain-of-function polymorphism in plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 PAI -1 with airway obstruction is modified by asthma status, and whether any genotype effect persists after accounting for common exposures that increase PAI -1 level. We examined the association of the polymorphism with asthma and airway obstruction within asthmatics via multivariate logistic regression. Secondary analysis included the effect of the at-risk polymorphism on postbronchodilator lung function.

As exposures known to increase PAI -1 levels did not mitigate this association, PAI -1 may contribute to airway obstruction in the context of chronic asthmatic airway inflammation. Data on genetic and environmental factors influencing PAI -1 levels and their consequent effect on clot lysis in black African populations are limited. We also describe gene-environment interactions and the effect of urbanisation.

Data from apparently healthy urban and rural black participants from the South African arm of the PURE study were cross-sectionally analysed. Several of these interactions differed significantly between rural and urban subgroups, particularly in individuals harbouring the mutant alleles.

Central obesity was the biggest contributor to PAI -1act variance The adipokine plasminogen activator inhibitor PAI -1 is increased in plasma of obese individuals and exhibits increased expression in the stomachs of individuals infected with Helicobacter.

To investigate the relevance of gastric PAI -1, we used 1. We studied the physiological, biochemical, and behavioral characteristics of these and mice null for PAI -1 or a putative receptor, urokinase plasminogen activator receptor uPAR.
